Winter Training Day 2023
LATE’s 7th Winter Teacher Professional Development Day (TPDD) “Advancing Teachers’ Professional Competence and Self-Efficacy” was held online on 29th December 2023 from 9:00 – 15:30.

Teachers who participated in all the sessions received a TPDD course certificate for 8 hours.
This was a free event for LATE teachers.

Writing Seminars
Our Vice-President, Robert Buckmaster, ran a series of three 4 hour seminars on Writing for high school teachers in September and October 2022 on our Zoom platform.

LATE/OUP Online Teacher Training Event
LATE and OUP ran a joint Teacher Professional Development Day on 17th May 2021 entitled ‘Developing Engagement in a Period of Change: Visible Thinking and Building Core Vocabulary’. You can read the programme here.
LATE Online Teacher Training Event
LATE held an online Teacher Training event entitled “Developing Engagement in a Period of Change: Elaborating Writing and Reading Skills” on Thursday, 21st January 2021 from 15:00 – 18:00. The workshops were conducted by our well-known trainers Tatjana Kunda and Anna Beļska. Click here for the programme of the event. Winter Training Day 4: Developing Engagement in a Period of Change
LATE held its fourth winter seminar on the 29th December 2020 online on Zoom. One hundred and thirty-six participants took part in the event.
Training Day 3: Innovative Teaching Methods to Promote a Contemporary Learning Process
LATE held its third January Seminar on the 3rd of January 2020 at Riga Secondary School No. 34. Eighty teachers attended the event to see speakers talk on a variety of topics.

Latvia and Estonia joint seminar in Valka
Friday, November 2, was a significant day for Vidzeme region teachers from Valka, Strenči, Valmiera, Smiltene (Latvia) and Valga Municipality teachers (Estonia) as there was a fantastic opportunity for the teachers of English to take part in a joint seminar organized by Pearson Latvia, Pearson Estonia and LATE in Valka Janis Cimze Gymnasium.
